Why Did "Doctor" Emily Davis Want Reily Newton Erased?
There’s one clause in the contract I’ll never forget.
It didn’t just say I couldn’t talk to Reily.
It said I had to delete every trace of her existence.
Photos. Messages. Social media. Memories.
Even Google searches were banned.
“Act as if you never had a relationship with her.”
“Delete all reminders.”
“Live like she never existed.”
That wasn’t recovery.
That wasn’t protection.
That was cover-up — disguised as clinical guidance.
And it was written — by Doctor Emily — into a manipulative legal contract, drafted outside of any legitimate therapeutic framework, and enforced while she was actively draining me for over $125,000 in fabricated legal fees.
This woman was my therapist.
She saw me every week for five years.
She knew my entire trauma history.
And she used it against me — psychologically, financially, and emotionally — the moment she saw an opening.
What kind of therapist demands you erase someone from your life like they’re evidence?
Because that’s exactly what Reily was.
She wasn’t a threat to me.
She was a threat to Doctor Emily’s lies.
Reily had history.
Reily had connection.
Reily had access to someone — a man with four felony convictions, tax fraud, and a track record of stalking, identity theft, and digital manipulation.
That man was her ex.
And that man is the same person Doctor Emily claimed was “trying to destroy her life.”
She told me they were conspiring against her.
She said they were stalking her, threatening her license, ruining her career.
She said they were targeting me, too.
But she never showed evidence.
Not once.
She just kept moving the goalposts — as long as I kept paying.
And here’s what Doctor Emily couldn’t script:
In early 2024, I received a threatening letter.
Anonymous. Computer generated. Malicious.
I traced the return address to TAQ, a restaurant in New York.
The owners?
Reily’s ex’s family.
The minute I told Reily this — the exact second I brought it up —
she panicked.
Cut contact.
Disappeared.
No response. No denial. Just vanished.
That’s not what innocent people do.
That’s what people do when they realize you just followed the money and found the match in their hand.
This was never about Reily.
This was about control.
This was about silencing me before I started asking questions Doctor Emily couldn’t answer.
Why was she suddenly claiming every woman I’d ever dated was now stalking her?
Why was she “protecting me” by cutting off my friends, deleting my history, and draining my accounts?
Why was she demanding I go no-contact with Reily — under legal threat — but never showed proof that Reily had done anything wrong?
Because she needed to isolate me.
Because she needed to play victim.
Because if I stayed confused, she stayed in control.
That’s not therapy.
That’s coercive abuse.
Doctor Emily didn’t just cross boundaries.
She built a prison out of contracts — and locked me inside it.
She used therapy notes to map out my survival instincts.
She threatened my reputation if I spoke up.
She leveraged her title, her “concern,” and her alleged victimhood as weapons — all while siphoning money and dictating my life like a handler, not a healer.
This wasn’t an isolated mistake.
This was a system.
And the system’s finally being investigated.
As of this writing, Doctor Emily is under active investigation by the State of Michigan’s Board of Professional Licensing (LARA).
Multiple formal complaints have been filed.
Evidence has been submitted.
Screenshots, bank records, contracts, and more.
This is real.
This is happening.
And she knows it.
I’m not writing this for pity.
I’m writing this because abusers like her count on silence.
They weaponize shame.
They bet that you’ll be too embarrassed to speak up — too afraid to be discredited, dismissed, or destroyed.
But that ends here.
Because I’ve got nothing left to protect except the truth.
And the truth is this:
I wasn’t addicted to Reily.
I wasn’t in love with Reily.
But I was manipulated into erasing her — because was part of someone else’s lies.
And the second I started asking why?
Everything came undone.

Kill The Silence

Okay, so I thought it was bad because I've experienced abuse in psychotherapy. But this sounds more like Bad Vegan or Tiger King territory. Maybe the next Netflix special. This sounds like crazy fucked up territory. If it’s all true, as you say, you experienced it, I don’t know how you untangle such an experience or even begin to tell the story. It’s just WTF? I’m sorry you went through what sounds like psychological manipulation or trauma bonding (Patrick Carnes)
Why have these wild and crazy stories become so prevalent in society? I don't even know what to say. I feel a sense of shock, but also sadness as these stories sometimes hit close to home. I’ve experienced the shadow aspects of psychotherapy and psychiatry. These so called mental health professionals are often sociopaths and narcissists. In my case, I was able to walk away. I sought treatment elsewhere. I experienced PTSD as a result of the damage of what a mental professional did. I don’t think people understand how prevalent it is for a psychotherapist to be on a psychopathological spectrum. They’re often good at playing ‘angelic’ healer if they’re a covert narcissist or sociopath. (Ross Rosenberg is a good resource if anyone here is interested in learning more.) “They love you.” “They care about you.” They only want what’s best for you.” Often they know how to use the tools of their trade against you. Mirroring and NLP are a couple of techniques they can use in nefarious fashion. Many therapists have past trauma or substance abuse issues. Many of them cannot even maintain relationships, yet, they’ve been given ‘licenses’ or the liberty to provide intervention to people who are often in vulnerable states.
Cody, I hope that you have the psychological support you need to treat the PTSD. I know you're motivated to tell the story, and I hope you've also got multiple mental health professionals (a team) offering their support. This sounds monumental.
I wish you the best.
Wow man, sorry you went through that. I hope she gets what she deserves.
