Ok, this makes sense. I am a literal genius on paper but I could not find the right healing modality. Wow, you nailed this, too. Thanks so much for this perspective.

Ughhh. It’s too real. Sometimes my heart says to me, “just feel the pain.” And sometimes I do. But usually I start moving to distract myself.

This is excellent, Cody. I heard a podcast recently where a therapist said that next time anxious feelings come up, let them be there without trying to attach a story to it. Instead of “I feel anxious because,” it’s just “I feel anxiety in my body and that’s okay.” It has helped me a ton and sounds a lot like your article.

I soooo needed to hear this today! I am still trying to fix and figure things out (which is now a habitual pattern because it used to work with smaller issues). I’m searching for a breakthrough “fix” and to heal that way, instead of just feeling through it and listening to my nervous system. Thank you so much!

I ignored my intuition for a long time. I listened to it sometime. When the feelings start coming and they got loud I wanted to shut them down until I had to feel my way through the situation and my intuition was correct - it always is.

You sir are a genius! I’ve been groping with this problem in the dark for too long. I finally am happy to admit although intellectual I may setup to be I’m so dumb in the body! Thank you for alerting me. I will sink into my feelings of body and heart. Jesus Christ that took freaking years of my karma! Thanking you in advance.

I love this but not sure i agree with the street smart comment and find it divisive. I think I’m street smart as well and know a lot of traumatized street smart folks, but cPTSD means our nervous systems are hijacked and we learned to fold regardless. Fawning, especially in female victims is quite common.
